Columbus, OH-Three »Æ¹Ï¶ÌÊÓƵ electric cooperatives will be reimbursed for expenses incurred following the damaging derecho that swept across parts of the state in June 2022.
Holmes-Wayne Electric Cooperative, Consolidated Cooperative, and Guernsey-Muskingum Electric Cooperative will each receive money from the State Disaster Relief Program, under the »Æ¹Ï¶ÌÊÓƵ Emergency Management Agency.
- Consolidated Cooperative—$342,888.99
- Guernsey-Muskingum Electric Cooperative—$192,212.08
- Holmes-Wayne Electric Cooperative—$2,318,040.44
The reimbursements to the cooperatives made up the bulk of the $3.4 million being distributed to not-profit organizations and local governments which did not meet the threshold for federal assistance. The funds will help cover costs associated with debris removal, emergency protective measures and permanent work.Ìý
Governor Mike Dewine authorized the use of the SDRP funds in November to bring relief to the counties that were impacted the most by severe storms last year.Ìý
